LA Market Week, also known as LA Fashion Market, is the West Coast’s premier fashion trade event. It features hundreds of contemporary showrooms and brands. Along with the LA Fashion District’s permanent showrooms, various trade shows participate in market week throughout the year. For a full list of participating brands, see our Lines Directory, which is updated prior to each market week.
The event is hosted five times a year. The 2019 LA Market Week dates will be as follows:
There are six main showroom buildings participating in LA Market Week – California Market Center, Cooper Design Space, The Gerry Building, The New Mart, The Lady Liberty Building, and Academy Awards Clothes Showroom Building. Market week is a trade-only event. You must own or work for a licensed retail business to purchase wholesale. Buyer requirements are listed here. Additional trade shows including LA Textile and LA Majors are listed here.
We know you’re probably wondering about the upcoming holiday hours. Will your favorite store be open? Will you be able to visit Santee Alley?
Here is a breakdown of what’s happening in the Fashion District during Thanksgiving weekend:
Thanksgiving Day, November 22nd
All wholesale and flower vendors will be closed. The Santee Alley and surrounding retail businesses are expected to open on Thanksgiving Day, as they have done so in previous years. Please note that some stores may close early.
Black Friday, November 23rd
Some wholesale vendors may open, although most have traditionally closed on this day. For specific vendor information please contact the individual showrooms or the San Pedro Wholesale Mart directly. The LA Flower Market will open to the public from 8AM-12PM. Flower vendors in the surrounding area are expected to have similar hours. The Santee Alley and surrounding retail businesses are expected to open with normal business hours.
BONUS: Hellen’s Sample Shop will be hosting a Grand Opening for their shop online. In honor of their launch, they will be offering BUY ONE GET ONE 50% OFF in store from 8am to 9pm. The event will feature food, influencers, drinks, give-aways, pictures, discounts and music.

Small Business Saturday, November 24th
Small Business Saturday is a nationwide movement to support local, independently owned businesses during the holiday season. All businesses are expected to have normal business hours this day. Show your support and shop local!
Please note, all businesses in the Fashion District are independently owned and operated. For exact business hours, please contact the businesses directly. If you still have any questions regarding the upcoming holidays, you may contact the Fashion District BID office at (213) 488-1153.
ABOUT LA MARKET WEEK
The Spring 2019 LA Market Week, also known as LA Fashion Market will be held October 8th through October 10th. Designers and brands will debut their collections for the upcoming Spring season at the showroom buildings on 9th and Los Angeles Streets. Additionally, multiple trade shows showcasing temporary collections (designers that do not have permanent showrooms in the Fashion District) will also be showcasing collections.
REGISTRATION AND BUYER REQUIREMENTS
Market Week is a trade-only event and buyers must be able to prove they have, or are working for, a licensed business.
Buyers will need to register for the LA Market Week at each building. At the Cooper Design Space, Gerry Building and The New Mart, buyers and retailers are asked to bring a business card. At the California Market Center (CMC), in order to register for market weeks, you must be able to provide the following credentials:
