The LA Fashion District Business Improvement District is transforming metered spaces throughout the district into parks in celebration of PARK(ing) Day on Friday, September 20, 2019.
PARK(ing) Day is an annual event that encourages community members to transform metered parking spaces into public space. Since the project began in San Francisco in 2005, parking spaces worldwide have been transformed into spaces to read, eat lunch, have coffee, play games, and share art. These temporary parks call attention to the need for urban open space and invite the public to engage in the conversation around how public space is used.
The public is invited to come discover the potential of space activation and take a journey through the Urban Fabric of the LA Fashion District from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Follow #UrbanFabric and LA Fashion District on Instagram for updates on park programming and giveaways.
PARK(ing) Day 2019 has been made possible thanks to: Theoforma, George’s Barbershop LA, West Elm DTLA, The Local Spaw and Stumptown. To learn more about PARK(ing) Day, click here.
