Not sure what district signage is? District signage refers to any sign or banner in the district that says “LA Fashion District” or “Fashion District”. This includes The Santee Alley banner (pictured above), the yellow way-finding signs, and the big green directional signs found throughout the district. You can see samples of the last two by scrolling below. The Fashion District icon also counts!
The yellow way-finding signs offer directions to different areas and buildings in the district. They are located throughout the 100-block area. The one pictured here is on 9th and Main Streets 😉
The big green directional signs are typically found in the outer areas or “borders” of the district. They direct people into the Fashion District and to other parts of Downtown. Similar signs are found throughout Downtown Los Angeles. In order for the sign to count it must say “Fashion District” at the top and have the Fashion District icon, like the one pictured above.
The Fashion District icon is found at various intersections throughout the district. (This photo was taken at Los Angeles Street and Olympic Boulevard.) If you are going to take a photo with the icon please be extra careful. Do not walk out into traffic. Icon photos should only be taken while crosswalk sign is signaling that is is safe for pedestrians to cross the street.
We also ask that you be mindful of the crosswalk countdown while taking photos. Safety first!
May the ugliest sweater win! 🙂
