UPDATE: See the 2015 Prom Dress Shopping Guide here.

Earlier this week we mentioned on Instagram that we stopped by one of our favorite prom dress stores in the Fashion District. We featured Princess on the blog last year, but they have since relocated to a new, bigger location, which means they have a wider selection of dresses to choose from. The dresses are gorgeous and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. We love the customer service here. Yes, they have fitting rooms too!

Princess carries plus sizes in various styles, as well as bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses. Scroll below to see their most popular styles for 2014.

Prom Dress Trends 2014
Fully Beaded and Sequins Bling and glam have become a prom staple over the past years and this year is no different. The fully beaded gowns and sequin and bead detailing trend is still going strong.

Short Dresses There’s been an increase in short dress styles in the district as more and more girls opt for shorter lengths on prom night. We like how fun and playful this trend is. Plus it’s a great way to show off your shoes 🙂

Sweetheart Necklines One of the biggest trends of the year is the sweetheart neckline. It’s everywhere. As if you couldn’t tell by looking at these photos…

Pastel Colors On trend for spring, pastels in blues, greens, pinks, peaches, and corals, are taking center stage. We’ve also seen gorgeous shades of lilac and lots of mint.

Cutouts & Lace Another big spring trend that’s transitioned into prom fashion is the “cutouts” (pictured below) and lace. For the girls who want to show a little more skin while maintaining the elegance of a gown this is a great option.
