Business Spotlight: Timothy Oulton Downtown Los Angeles

We're so happy to announce the opening of a new Timothy Oulton location in our neighborhood! Colliding heritage with creativity, tradition with modernity, and ruggedness with refinement, the new space embodies founder Tim Oulton’s mantra: “Be Relevant or Be Dead”.

The new 5000 sq ft gallery is located at 950 South Broadway, across from the historic Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles and just a block away from the Hoxton

Timothy Oulton at new Gallery in DTLA

Hailing from Manchester in England, founder Tim Oulton started out working in his father's antique shops, before later taking over the business and switching things up to focus on furniture design. The brand's most established icons are mainly inspired by the past, but mixed in with modern energy. Signature pieces on show in the new gallery include: the effortlessly sophisticated Shabby modular sofa, the timeless Saddle chair, the glamorous Glacier table collection in burnt timber and acrylic, the glowing Bio Hazard bar cabinet and the iconic Rex mirror and dining table. A separate mezzanine level creates a showcase for Timothy Oulton’s Noble Souls, a modular sofa collection handmade with natural vegetable-dyed linens using ancient dyeing techniques, and promising to create a realm of sensorial, social and cultural reconnection in any home.

Tim Oulton says, "L.A. is very special to us, it’s where we opened our very first gallery over a decade ago. We’ve watched Downtown undergo a huge transformation in recent years and it’s still in the midst of this burgeoning cultural resurgence which we want to be a part of. Broadway has such an amazing creative heritage and it just seemed like the perfect home for us, we’re excited to bring our story-filled store experience to the local downtown residents as well as the wider L.A. community and beyond.”

Tim: “We have a point of view. There is character and soul to what we do. The materials we use, the link to heritage, the designs – that combination is unique.”

We can't wait for you to see the new beautiful gallery! Be sure to follow @timothyoulton AND @lafashiondistrict for fashion finds and all things Fashion District.
