FAQ: What are the Fashion District Hours
What are the Fashion District hours? The hours in the district vary by the type (wholesale vs. retail) and the location of the business. In general most businesses in the Fashion District are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. The Santee Alley and the surrounding area are open seven days a week.
Why do the hours vary by business? Because the businesses in the district are all independently owned and operated. There are thousands of businesses in the district! Here are the general guidelines for business hours:
Wholesale Businesses tend to open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some wholesale businesses are open on Saturdays as well, but the hours tend to vary. Most wholesale vendors are closed on Sundays.
Fabric and Notions Stores are typically open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Most are open on Saturdays, and some are open on Sundays.
The LA Flower Markets all have individual hours of operations. You can view the hours for the Original LA Flower Market here and the hours for the California Flower Mall here.
Santee Alley and the surrounding area are open from approximately 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some vendors open between 9 and 9:30 a.m., and most will close between 5 and 5:30 p.m. By 6 p.m. the entire area is closed for the day. The alley is open seven days a week, including ALL holidays.
The LA Fashion District BID office is open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Holiday Hours have traditionally been as follows: Most businesses in the district will close for New Year’s, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas. Many businesses in the district also observe Jewish holidays, especially those in the fabrics and notions area. As mentioned above, Santee Alley does not close for any holidays. For all other holidays the hours vary by store, but the general rule is that if your local mall is open, so are we.
