#SmallBizLove: Chikas Fashion

Spreading the #SmallBizLove for fashion lovers! Chikas Fashion is a fashion boutique located at 923 Santee Street #5, open daily 9:30am to 6:00pm. Keep reading to learn a little more about Chikas from the owner, Robert. 

1. Tell us the story behind Chikas Fashion. 

I have a background in business and marketing but my heart has always been in fashion. I worked as a buyer in another store before opening Chikas and the customers kept telling me I had a knack for it so I decided to go out on my own. It's been a priority of mine to remain the lead buyer for the store. 

2. What's your role at Chikas Fashion? 

Owner.

3. What made you decide to open this business in the LA Fashion District?

My dad runs a store in the Fashion District, so I have a lot of childhood memories coming to the Fashion District on the weekends. I knew I wanted to open up my own shop so when I saw the shop open up on Santee I jumped at the chance. 

4. What makes Chikas Fashion unique? 

We go out of our way to source pieces that are unique and on trend. By getting to know our customers we are able to create a boutique experience which keeps people coming back. Some of our customers have been with us for 15 years!

5. Share your favorite shopping tip/trick. 

Best day to come shop is on Friday -- we get most of our new styles right before the weekend. 

6. BONUS: What are the best-selling styles of dresses this season? 

Floral prints!
